Olympios Group at EWaS6 – Blue Diamond Sponsor and participated at the 1st WaSiTec Workshop
Olympios Group is proud to have participated as Blue Diamond Sponsor at the 6th EWaS International Conference (EWaS6), held on 11–14 May 2026 in Thessaloniki, Greece, under the theme “Safeguarding Water & Health in a Financially, Socially and Environmentally Fragile Era.“
EWaS6 is a landmark event — the first international conference in the world to be co-organized by University Departments of Hydraulic Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Medicine — uniting two disciplines that rarely meet within a structured scientific setting and igniting a new era of cross-disciplinary dialogue on water and health. As Blue Diamond Sponsor, Olympios Group reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to advancing innovation, technology and sustainability in the water sector, supporting both the academic community and the Greek water utilities.
Participation at the 1st WaSiTec Workshop
On 11 May 2026, Olympios Group also took an active role in the 1st Water Sci-Tech Workshop (WaSiTec2026) – “Science and Technology serving Water Utilities“, held at the KEDEA Conference Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a parallel event of EWaS6. The workshop, organized by the Laboratory of Hydraulics & Hydraulic Works of AUTh (Director: Prof. V. Kanakoudis) under the auspices of E.D.E.Y.A. and the Department of Civil Engineering of AUTh, brought together researchers, technology providers and water utility executives from across Greece.
Following the opening Blue Diamond Sponsor address delivered by our Group Technlogy Officer E. Balokas (Olympios Group), the Group — together with its companies ReonHydor and IANIC — presented four technical contributions covering the most pressing operational and strategic challenges faced by Greek water utilities:
Implementation of a Digital Twin for external and internal water supply networks – Application on the island of Kea — Menelaos Patelis, ReonHydor / Olympios Group
NRW reduction strategies and effectiveness verification through Minimum Night Flow (MNF) analysis – Application to the Florina water supply network — Konstandinos Gonelas, ReonHydor / Olympios Group
Re-drawing of pump characteristic curves – Application to the Kos water supply network — Anastasia Papadopoulou, IANIC / Olympios Group
The integrated SmartVille platform ecosystem: big-data telemetry and AI technologies for consumer segmentation and tariff design based on consumption profiles — Thomas Pipilikas, IANIC / Olympios Group
Through these presentations, Olympios Group showcased real, field-tested solutions — from digital twins and non-revenue water reduction, to pump optimization and AI-driven smart metering — demonstrating how the synergy of Research, Technology and End User can deliver tangible benefits for water utilities and ultimately for citizens.
We warmly thank the organizing committee, the academic community and the participating Greek water utilities for an inspiring exchange of knowledge and experience. Olympios Group will continue to invest in technology and partnerships that safeguard one of our most vital resources: water.
