Shaping the Future of Water Infrastructure: Olympios Group at GREECE 2030

Olympios Group proudly participated as a sponsor at the GREECE 2030 Conference, held on June 8–9, 2026, at the Athenaeum InterContinental in Athens — a leading forum bringing together institutional, business, and academic voices to shape the country’s development agenda for the next decade.
Representing the Group, Mr. Xenos, Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors, joined distinguished panelists in the session “Infrastructure: Development, Resilience and International Perspectives”, where he shared the Group’s vision for the future of water infrastructure in Greece.
In his remarks, Mr. Xenos emphasized that the digitalization of water, irrigation, and sewerage networks is no longer a technological option but a developmental necessity. Smart meters, field sensors, and telemetry systems enable real-time network monitoring, leak detection, and operational optimization — while also creating a new market for technology, innovation, and skilled employment around water.
Addressing the new European water directives, he argued that compliance should be viewed not as a cost, but as an investment: countries and organizations that adapt quickly will gain a competitive advantage, with more reliable infrastructure, greater resilience, and enhanced international credibility.
On climate resilience, Mr. Xenos called for a coherent national strategy linking water resource protection with digital transformation and the circular economy — including water reuse and the energy recovery of treatment by-products.
If the previous decade belonged to transport and energy, the next will largely be the decade of water,” he noted, underlining that early investment in resilience and sustainable water management will secure a lasting development advantage for future generations. Olympios Group remains committed to driving innovation in water infrastructure and contributing actively to the national dialogue on sustainable development.
