Olympios Group – Signed a joint statement with 12 Leading Global Technology companies to adopt the European Water Resilience Strategy

Olympios Group, leader in the water management in Greece, signed a joint statement with 12 leading global technology companies, the adoption of the European Water Resilience Strategy, responding directly to this initiative of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and recognizing the critical importance of taking action for the management of water resources.
This strategy recognises water as an irreplaceable resource under increasing pressure and addresses the challenges arising from fragmented water management at Member State and local authority level. These 13 companies support the need to develop a strategy that includes the use of digital solutions and data analytics to improve water management at all levels.
The Key elements of the joint statement include the following:
  • Develop an EU-wide Action Plan for the digitalisation across the water sector.
  • Ensure dedicated EU funding to support digital water management solutions, in the context of the next Multiannual Financial Perspective.
  • Accelerate the implementation of existing EU water legislation through digitisation and strengthen cooperation between Member States.
  • Strengthen digital skills and research in the water sector.
  • Communicate the value of water through digital information campaigns.
As a signatory, The aim is to enhance the resilience and sustainability of the EU’s water resources by linking the green and digital transition.
