Olympios Group at the 6th CYBER GREECE Conference

On Wednesday 21 October, Olympios Group was a sponsor of the 6th CYBER GREECE Conference at Aigli Zappeiou in Athens. Organised by Next is Now and Dome Consulting, this year’s conference was about hybrid threats: attacks that combine cyber operations with disinformation or physical sabotage, and what they mean for the state and for business.
Our Group Chief Digital Officer, Anna Makri, spoke in the afternoon session on national security and critical infrastructure. It opened with a video address by the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, followed by speakers from the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, the Ministry of Citizen Protection, ELIAMEP and EFA Group.
The second half moved from national security to the companies that keep everyday services running. Mrs. Makri was on the panel with Nikolaos Reppas, Head of Technology Infrastructure at the National Bank of Greece; Giorgos Diamantopoulos, Corporate Security, Resilience & Services Director at OTE Group; and Konstantinos Agathakis, General Manager of Business Development & Digital Transformation at IPTO. Dimitris Pefanis, Director of CNN.gr, moderated.
It was a good mix. Banking, telecoms and the power grid usually get most of the attention in these discussions. Water networks get less, even though they rely on the same kind of connected equipment and need the same level of protection. That is the side of the conversation Olympios Group brought to the panel.
